STEP INTO SPRING with Bridget & Sarah

The last of our ‘Inner-Fire’ series is coming up at Yoga Place, Bethnal Green. The last two were really fun so this one should follow suit, prepare to turn upside down, inside out and all around!

Blazing bright in balances
Sat., 24 March 2012, 2.30pm – 5pm, £30

It’s Spring and it’s time to bring your intentions into fruition. Find equipoise in the equinox by flowing into balancing poses – as the days lengthen you can strengthen your inner resolve, truly blossoming with the change of season.  You’ll try some deep detoxifying twists and immune boosting inversions! Join us for brownies and tea afters.

Instead of going into complete hibernation and turning into grumbling bears this Winter, come out to play! Embrace the season by doing some fiery heart-melting, hip-opening, resolve-strengthening yoga, with Bridget and Sarah.

Yoga Place, Bethnal Green, £30 per workshop

Kindling the fire in the hips and hamstrings
Sat., 26 November 2011, 2.30pm – 5pm

Draw in and thaw out with some flowing, heat-building vinyasa, followed by hip openers and forward bends.
Accept where you are in space, time and place. Embrace it by drawing inwards to kindle your projects, ideas and dreams.  This flowing yoga workshop has a meditative focus, working the dense and tense area of the hips, hamstrings and lower body – using asana, breath-work and meditation to find and fuel yourself over the wintry months.

Stoking the fire of the heart
Sat., 11 February 2012, 2.30pm – 5pm

Once the festive season has passed, fire up from the inside out, focus on your intentions, and wonderfully get through the rest of the Winter. This playful workshop will warm the cockles of your heart, and open up your shoulders that are often hunched over in the harsh weather. You’ll spend time on the back-bends that befuddle, grasping them with grace and integrity.

You’re welcome to join us for an ‘inner-fire’ side chat, hot drink and gluten-free treat after each Inner Fire workshop.

New Workshops coming up soon… join my mailing list to keep up to date.  If you are a business, drama school or theatre group I have special ‘Preparation for Performance’ workshops which you can commission. Contact me at an.urban.om@gmail.com with any queries.

YOGA TO THE RESCUE

It is well known that yoga can help with stress and anxiety, but how and why you should make time for it in your already busy schedule are the really big questions! If you’re too busy to squeeze a class into your most hectic weeks but want and need all the benefits of yoga, this workshop shows you how to bring yoga practices off the mat and into the ‘real world’ as and when you need them. It is ideal for anyone who encounters stress in their daily life, however big or small. Suitable for all levels of experience. It will involve some physical practice as well as restorative poses, breathing and meditation techniques; teaching you what you can do at home, the workplace, or even at those high profile events. Expect to leave a little cooler, calmer and with some practical ‘coping mechanism’ tricks up your sleeve. Sunday 31 July / 2.30pm – 5pm / £25 (£20 concessions). Book through Yoga Place, Bethnal Green.

Introduction to Yoga for Complete Beginners

Are you intrigued by yoga but a bit shy about giving it a try? Fear not. If you’re worried that yoga is someone shouting seemingly random animal names, expecting you to understand, and laughing when you’re in a heap on the floor then this workshop is here to put your mind at rest.

In this School of Everything Special you will be welcomed into the beautiful Slanted Eyes Studios and given a beginners guide to yoga and the foundations of a good yoga practice – focusing on breath, alignment and posture.

Over complimentary tea and biscuits I will answer any questions you may have about yoga, and chat about its history, philosophy, benefits. Including some useful advice of how and why to incorporate yoga into your life.

This class is for complete beginners to get them ready to go into any drop in class with confidence, and no longer be confused by all this Hatha, Iyengar, Bikram and Ashtanga chat.
